The Pineal Gland (Third Eye/Ajna Chakra) & DMT
What is Calcification and what causes it?

Pineal Gland Overview

The Pineal Gland is regarded as one of the most important parts of your nervous system. It is shrouded in mystery, but as more and more people investigate it they are realising it is essentially a spiritual antenna, the mystical third eye (Ajna Chakra) that ancient traditions have been talking about. For many eons, the third eye has been seen as a way to reach higher levels of consciousness while still being present in a physical body.

This concept of the pineal gland being the “seat of the soul” or the “spiritual gateway to all realms and all dimensions” is important to realising its full function. Before you can reach this spiritual gateway, you must start the practise of both detoxifying your pineal gland and activating your pineal gland, through methods such as changes in diet (see How to decalcify your pineal gland?) and spiritual practices such as meditation and visualisation.

The medical profession describes the pineal gland as being:
“a small endocrine gland in the vertebrate brain that produces the serotonin derivative melatonin, a hormone that affects the modulation of wake/sleep patterns and seasonal functions. Its shape resembles a tiny pine cone (hence its name), and it is located near the centre of the brain, between the two hemispheres, tucked in a groove where the two rounded thalamic bodies join.”

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pineal_gland) contains a wealth of information on the Pineal Gland, as a summary the key bits are presented below:

Pineal Gland Location

“The pineal gland is a midline structure shaped like a pine cone, and is often seen in plain skull X-rays, as it is often calcified; calcification has been shown in one small study to correlate with the accumulation of fluoride.”
The pine cone shape of the pineal gland is a very interesting topic. Symbolically, many organisations both religious and spiritual, have used the pine cone as an icon. Watch David Wilcock’s video called 2012 Enigma for more information (see below).

Pineal Gland Composition

“Pineal glands contain a number of things including Pinealocytes in many non-mammalian vertebrates have a strong resemblance to the photoreceptor cells of the eye. Some evolutionary biologists believe that the vertebrate pineal cells share a common evolutionary ancestor with retinal cells. In some vertebrates, exposure to light can set off a chain reaction of enzymatic events within the pineal gland that regulate circadian rhythms. Some early vertebrate fossil skulls have a pineal foramen (opening). This correlates with the physiology of the modern “living fossils,” the lamprey and the tuatara, and some other vertebrates that have a parietal organ or “third eye,” which, in some of them, is photosensitive. The third eye represents evolution’s earlier approach to photoreception. The structures of the third eye in the tuatara are analogous to the cornea, lens and retina, though the latter resembles that of an octopus rather than a vertebrate retina. The asymmetrical whole consists of the “eye” to the left and the pineal sac to the right. ”
This notion of the third eye is scientific fact. The purpose of this third eye is the key here, which opens the door to the metaphysical interpretations that ancient wisdom talks about.

Pineal Gland’s Production of Melatonin

“Melatonin is N-acetyl-5-methoxy-tryptamine, a derivative of the amino acid tryptophan, which also has other functions in the central nervous system. The production of melatonin by the pineal gland is stimulated by darkness and inhibited by light. Photosensitive cells in the retina detect light and directly signal the SCN, entraining its rhythm to the 24-hour cycle in nature.”
Many experts in the meta-physical talk about completing spiritual practices in the dark to help stimulate your pineal gland. See the section “How to activate your pineal gland” for more information.

Pineal Gland Growth

“The human pineal gland grows in size until about 1–2 years of age, remaining stable thereafter, although its weight increases gradually from puberty onwards. The abundant melatonin levels in children are believed to inhibit sexual development, and pineal tumours have been linked with precocious puberty. When puberty arrives, melatonin production is reduced. Calcification of the pineal gland is typical in adults, and has been observed in children as young as 2. Calcification rates vary widely by country and tend to increase by age, with calcification occurring in an estimated 40% of Americans by their 17th year.”
What is interesting here is why the pineal gland grows up until the age of 1-2 years. Is it caused by our environment and our lifestyle habits? Are our children’s pineal glands being suppressed on purpose? Children are seen as the most spiritual beings as they don’t have any of the fears or concerns of adults when they are born. They are born free and full of unconditional love. It is society that places these fears and conditioning on our children. It would be interesting to know what would happen if a child’s pineal gland wasn’t effected by its environment and was allowed to develop, grow and be activated.

If you are curious to find out some great research behind the pineal gland, check out David Wilcock’s classic video 2012 Enigma, it contains some of the various legends and symbolism surrounding this important gland. Definitely a must watch for all on the path of pineal gland discovery:

The Pineal Gland (Third Eye/Ajna Chakra) & DMT

Cleaning up the pineal gland and activating your third eye is essential for those wishing to develop their psychic ability and multidimensional perception. By awakening your pineal gland, it brings the ability to consciously astral travel, explore other dimensions and foresee the future.

Many believe the abilities that the pineal gland offers come from its ability to naturally produce its own DMT (Dimethyltryptamine, a psychedelic drug) when fully operational. This allows the individual to be in a constant visionary state most of the time, tapping into these extra special senses.

DMT is described as a naturally occurring psychedelic compound that is widespread throughout the plant kingdom. It occurs in trace amounts in mammals, including humans, where it functions as a trace amine neurotransmitter. For more information, please visit Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimethyltryptamine

DMT is present in the South American shamanic brew called Ayahuasca. These shamans have used this brew for many generations as a way to tap into the spirit world. It is a plant medicine that grows in the Amazon jungle, which brings profound physical and heart healing through its purgative effects and gives the individual ability to perceive other dimensions.  With enough practise and development, your pineal gland will produce this special substance. For those that take this herbal medicine, they go into a period of profound experience where issues and troubles come into awareness, allowing them to be healed with the insights that come from DMT consciousness.

DMT is a totally natural substance that the human body will manufacture and distribute when it is in a healed state. It is a belief between many that human beings were intended to be visionary beings, able to tap into the information in other dimensions allowing it to guide them through this cosmic journey we all call life. It allows us to transcend the ego and realise that we are one consciousness, giving us the opportunity to rapidly heal our sufferings, conflicts and cleanse our karma.

For more information about DMT, please check out the “DMT: The Spirit Molecule” documentary. The documentary takes a look at the work of Dr.Rick Strassman and goes into detail about how the pineal gland produces its own DMT:

What is Calcification and what causes it?

Calcification is the build up of calcium phosphate crystals in various parts of the body. It is a natural process caused primarily by nanobacteria. Nanobacteria are tiny microorganisms that form calcium phosphate shells around themselves, essentially to protect themselves from your immune system. It is these shells that accumulate in our pineal glands and ultimately calcify it. Furthermore, it is becoming apparent that many researchers are finding that this may be the cause of most diseases, from arthritis to stroke, from cancer to back pain, as these calcium shells build up in various parts of our body.

For more information on calcification, check out this video of David Wolfe:

Unfortunately most people’s pineal glands are heavily calcified. It ends up becoming so calcified that under scans it is seen as a lump of calcium, essentially blinding our third eye.

Due to the horrific western diets and food systems, most people are being exposed to far more of these organisms than ever before, and not only that, are being calcified through other means as well, which we’ll cover in the next section: How to decalcify your pineal gland?.

  1. Annonymous,

First of all, thank you for the article. You have kept it simple but well explained. Anyhow …

I live in a country near India, and I’m eager to try out this brew ‘Ayahuasca’ (I have heard about it many times, especially from ‘david icke’ ).

But, because of my location, the only way it seems to get it is through ‘ebay.com’. I tried searching for it and it gave me a list of people who are selling it, but since I’m very new to this, I’m not certain what they have is actually ‘Ayahuasca’ or something that is fake.

So, my humble question is that, is there a way to get the original ‘Ayahuasca’ that you are aware of (where they ship world wide) ? Is it generally safe for one to try it out?

Again, thank you for the information friend, appreciate it :).

    1. Spiritual Scientist

Thank you for your message. Glad to hear that you wish to try Ayahuasca.

The best way to take it is through a shamanic ritual, as the shaman will prepare your body for this substance over a number of days. Taking it on it’s own without proper preparation might not be advised. I have heard of people taking DMT which is the chemical component of Ayahuasca, but again I recommend doing it properly with the help of a shaman, that way you know you are getting the authentic stuff and are in the capable hands of someone who knows how to handle it.

I did a quick search on Google to see if I could find shamanic rituals in India, I came across one: http://www.avatarhealingdestinations.com/india.html
Maybe try contacting them to ask if their shaman can do a ritual with you too.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to get in contact. 🙂

I have a question, when I attempt to astral project, Well when I started to get relax, my body does not adjust it feels as if my body is not relaxing and have also the urge to itch on many parts of my body. I also see purple light when I see through pitch blackness. Then, I can see white spots but monetarily and go pitch black again. I try to concentrate but it as if I can’t. Meanwhile, also while having my eyelids closed through the pith darkness I can see a little bright white circle that comes and goes in like seconds, in the middle. Also I feel slight low vibrations in the feet, hands, arms, but not my neck, chest, or face. Am I in the right path or I’m doing something wrong

    1. Spiritual Scientist

Hi Christopher, it seems like you are sensing/manipulating the energy in your body. You may need to do more “energy control” methods/practises like Reiki, Kundalini Yoga and/or Qi-Gong. These will help you harness that energy and help you to further your astral projection skills.

I have a question. It is about the direct relation between solar flare activity and our pineal glands.
Since 1 month I started having photophobia, I cant bear the light anymore, irregular and strong mood swings, as of today some out of the blue “panic attacks” started and headaches.
to happen in the morning, for no reason at all.
Yes, Ive been with medical specialists, head image scans are 100% ok, doctors keep prescribing me medications but to no effect at all.

    Can this be related?

    1. Spiritual Scientist

There is a potential link between solar flares and our pineal glands, hard to say whether this could be the cause of your photophobia. Might be worth trying meditation outside in the sun light to allow your brain to adjust to light but with your eyes closed. Just start with a few minutes each day of this, and increase the time doing this each day to see if that helps. Good luck.

Firstly, thank you for your most informative information. I now understand how the universal consciousness of Oneness of our great ancestors which permitted them the constructions of similar pyramids, temples & statues around the planet (ie : Bali = Mayan , Easter Is. = Ecuador, & so much more……) was due to the Pineal Gland fully developped. We are now returning to that great ‘awakening’ of empowerment . The Pineal Gland being pinecone shaped, we see this symbol in ancient cultures. I place pinecones in water overnight which constrains them to close up completely. Can you explain that ?
When I have premonitory dreams, visually crystal clear, like TV images, it is always after midnight, often at 3 am, & a couple have been around 7 am & even 11 am ! (when my biological clock has been altered by jetlag) . Has that to do with circadian rhythms ? I am a Reiki practitioner, work with crystals & shamanism. A deep love of Nature. Yours insights will be much appreciated.

    1. Spiritual Scientist

Hi Lydia, thank you for your message. The pinecones reaction to water, ie. it closing up completely, not sure what mechanism is causing that but would be interesting to observe it more closely. Regarding having crystal clear dreams around 3am, some studies have shown that our ancestors used to have a dual sleep pattern where they would sleep from around 10am to 1am and then again 3am to 6am. The time between both sleeps (1am to 3am) used to be a time where people used to come together and just socialise, but it was also describe like a peaceful and meditative time. Your dream like states would most likely be triggered when you are going into R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) where we begin to go into that dream time.

  5. Vanessa Simmons

Hello Spiritual Scientist, thank you for the great info! It literally opened my mind! My question is can DMT or Ayahuasca cure severe depression? My gf’s been taking Abilify for years but her condition only got worse. She gets paranoid at times. I feel like she is not the same person. Please advise 🙂 Thank you!

    1. Spiritual Scientist

Hi Vanessa, there are claims that ayahuasca can help despression – I have heard this from many sources. It is well worth speaking to a practitioner to provide you with more information. At the minimum, if your friend can open her heart to the world, that depression will disappear. 🙂 This is a self-realisation process, so she must be the one who consciously chooses this.

Grandmother Ayahuasca is an amazing healing plant along with the amazing effects of DMT, the journey we take is a deep, self reflecting, self identifying, healing journey. My first experience with the grandmother, I was 6 months in with my change of diet to vegetarian. The connection with Ayahuasca then was incomparable to the experience I had with her after I cleaned out my system. We are what we eat right? Well, for almost three decades of fueling my ship (body) with dead fuel (food), we build up a wall of what’s been identified as mucoid plaque in our colon! Being on this conscious journey of self realization, a key start I would suggest is to detoxify the bodies filters, organs and purify the fluids. These all assist with activation of the third eye. Last year, I was gifted an ayahuasca ceremony by a good friend after a Complete Internal Cleanse I did for 21 days. I must say, the experience opened my eye to the waste build up our vehicle accumulates every day and the connection with the Universe within was very lucid. Question and answers came with lightening speed! So clean, clean, clean! Remember, no one who drives a car would go years without and oil change or tune up. So why do we think we can? Check out the Complete Internal Cleanse on http://www.realmdynamics.com/ and feel the vivid connection with your higher self when the temple is void of waste!

  8. Mark

In August 2012 I came across this woman and in the first few seconds of seeing her face, my face started to tingle between my eyes, and I had the sensation I had woken up to something.

The message I seemed to have gotten was we were meant to meet, and she would be my girlfriend.
7 months later she starts showing interest in me.
    Has done for a year.
    The situation freaks me.
I really like her. Guess I’m scared I’m wrong. Not sure.
I have been seeing other things that happen well.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Did she activate my third eye?

    1. Spiritual Scientist

Hi Mark, other people can definitely affect our energy system with their own ones. Sounds like that’s exactly what happened. Just go deep down within and if it feels right then pursue those feelings. We are connected with many people on very deeper levels, there could be something deeper happening here too.

I downloaded the pineal gland activation app off playstore and have being doing my best to decalcify and activate ever since then…can anyone recommend any good music to accompany mediation to activate the third eye?

Excellent work, thank you, much needed. We have included a reference to your work on our website that also promotes a scientific approach to understanding the many attributes of the pineal gland.

All very interesting. I just became aware of this Pineal Gland study. I am a certified hypnotherapist and was surfing . I am commenting on Mr. Wolfe’s statement about Dr. Adkins clogged heart untimely death . Dr. Adkins died from a traumatic cranial head injury to the back of his head when he slipped on the ice while walking to work one winter morning as he did every morning. He held onto life for three weeks. A remarkable feat for a man of his late 70’s. His autopsy stated he had a perfectly clear circulatory system which surely helped him to hold on as long as he did. As Dave also stated, don’t listen to rumors of other people. I agree. On the Adkins diet… Read the Book! I have turned many people onto this Diet and it has helped everyone of them. But as I always tell them first…don’t get on the Diet until you first Read the Book! Not part of it.. but the whole thing(my 300 pound Doctor even argued with me about the diet. Did you read the whole book I would say?..no just parts of it he would reply. Read the whole book!). If you found the government involvement of the Pineal Gland interesting, you’ll enjoy Atkins book as well. As for me…I’m surfing for more of Mr. Wolfe’s good stuff. God Bless. Out Here

This is interesting but strange that the blogger states that the pineal gland is associated with the third eye or the ajna center. Because, I have always known the pituitary gland to be associated with the third eye, ajna center, and the pineal gland, in the middle of the brain roughly, to be associated with the crown chakra. Please explain! Thank you…..

Does the pineal gland have anythin* to do with the twin soul bond? Is there a way to break it through the gland?
